Our Special Interest Group invites all GGI members from around the globe to exchange news, knowledge and experiences related to divorce and family law matters. The number of international marriages, where the spouses have different nationalities and domiciles, has never been higher.

Both before and after marriage, expert advice on tax and financial planning, will be required in the form of a pre or postnuptial agreement and on choice of forum for jurisdiction in the event of a divorce.

Understanding how the rules of private taxation will apply to a couple is also an extremely important consideration.

There are many interesting areas where international advice and comparisons may be called for. Our aim is to strengthen our network of divorce & family experts within GGI, so that we can quickly assemble cross-border expert teams when needed. We look forward to sharing best practices.
