HERALD appoints Jérémy Cardenas as a Partner in the IP IT team

HERALD, formerly Granrut, announces the appointment of Jérémy Cardenas as a Partner in the IP IT team effective 01 January 2022.

This appointment reflects the firm’s commitment to promoting young talent, and increases the total number of partners at the firm to twenty. Jérémy Cardenas is a leading expert in trademark law, both in contentious and non-contentious matters. With twelve years of experience, Jérémy Cardenas has developed a recognised counselling and litigation practice in the field of intellectual property. In particular, he has acquired a solid reputation in the management of trademark and domain name portfolios, as well as in related litigation. Jérémy advises international, European and French clients, mainly in the areas of new technology, luxury goods and finance.

Jérémy Cardenas said, “It is a great honour to participate in the development of HERALD, a firm recognised since its creation in 1957 for the excellence of its skills, its dynamism and its permanent ambition. The strength of the IP IT team lies in its ability to work in close collaboration and to share with its clients a pragmatic approach that takes into account their business challenges.”

Commenting on Jérémy’s appointment, Anne Cousin, Partner in charge of the IT Practice, said, “Jérémy's appointment as a partner after less than three years spent with HERALD is the mark of the attention we pay to the legal and development skills of our associates. His expertise in trademark law, his sectorial specialisation and his mastery of the innovative concepts that are disrupting the field of intellectual property allow Jérémy to meet the needs of our clients on IP IT issues that the evolution of technologies is making more and more complex. We are delighted to have him on board.”

Jérémy Cardenas has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2010. Before joining HERALD, he was a Partner at Lexprime after eight years spent at Taylor Wessing. He holds a Master II in Business Law and a Master II in European Litigation from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas.

Jérémy joined HERALD in 2019 as a Counsel. He is a member of the Association du Droit des Marques et des Modèles (APRAM).

HERALD's team of attorneys is notably listed in the IP Copyright and Trademark rankings of the Legal 500, IP Stars and the World Trademark Review’s WTR 1000 directory.

This new appointment, shortly after Juliette Félix's appointment as Partner (September 2021), reflects the continued growth of the firm and the interest of the partners to promote its talent.

This is fully in line with HERALD’s ambition to be a top name in counselling and litigation, offering a full range of expertise to its French and international clients.
